Cloisonné Cloisonné is the traditional method of producing lapel pins. The design is stamped into brass and then the recessed areas are filled by hand with resin. The pins are then oven baked at high temperatures and polished to obtain a smooth surface. Silk screen printing can also be applied to Cloisonné pins.
Valuestar Die-Struck Soft Enamel Valuestar pins are produced in a similar manner to Cloisonné except that the colors, when specified, are produced using enamel or lacquer paint. Colors can be Pantone matched. Satin finish utilizes raised smooth and recessed light textured areas. Being relatively soft, the surface can be protected with an epoxy dome if desired.
Screen Print and Offset Print Colors are silk screen printed onto a thinner brass base like the Photo-etched pins. Pantone matching of colors is available and the surface is protected with an epoxy dome.
Photo-etched Soft Enamel Fine details are produced by chemically etching a thinner piece of brass as opposed to die striking. Colors can be Pantone matched. Surface may be protected with epoxy if desired (also called a poly dome).
